One Mann's Opinion

Maximum Value. It’s something many businesses strive to give and customers strive to get. It is also part of RD Rice’s mission statement. They strive to offer maximum value to clients through “superior resource integration, planning, management, workmanship and quality assurance. We are, above all, committed to delivering excellence.”

Douglass Rice and his son Jackson as well as the rest of the team, have built over 200 premier residences in Manhattan, specializing in high-end residential construction. Together they have built some of the most prestigious residences in New York.

I am proud to have Doug grace the cover of this month’s issue.

Moving on, we have a great partnership from Brown Harris Stevens to profile this month. Richard Ferrari and Drew Glick, both Senior Vice Presidents, have worked together at BHS for so long that their camaraderie helps out tremendously when customizing business to buyers or sellers.

This month we’re also featuring Michael Wahba from ONE NYC RE. Besides owning the highly successful United Equity Investments, Michael has recently launched ONE NYC as a premier residential rental agency. We wish him the best of luck as he begins this new endeavor.

As always, our contributing columnists have some great advice for all our readers. Carol Sigmond tells us the impact of recent indictments of the DOB inspectors, while Cathy Hobbs always enlightens us with her Design Recipes. Esther Muller and Michael Williams talk about entrepreneurialism and how it can help in any business, and Samuel Chang gives us some history on the Meatpacking District.

Finally I’d like to mention that we’ve revamped our Mann of the Year website. Visit www.MannoftheYear.com to learn of all the new changes we’ve made to this year’s event. Instead of a sit down dining event, we are hosting a gala cocktail extravaganza. We’ve also done away with the big journal we used to give out and now the journal has been turned into an e-journal. As you can see we are in step with today’s technical advances. Don’t forget! This year’s Fifth Annual Mann of the Year Awards will be held on April 19th at the legendary Cipriani 42nd Street. See you all there!

Because we’re in March I’d like to wish all my readers, my staff, as well as my contributors this month, and everyone that had a part in making this magazine the success that it is, the best of luck!

Regards,

Jeff

“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.”
— Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
