One Mann's Opinion

Hello October, you’ve been missed! What a wonderful time of year to be in the Big Apple. The leaves have begun to fall, the weather isn’t too hot or too cold. It’s the perfect time to just sit back and relax with your loved ones.

This month we have a jam-packed issue full of superstars. To start, we have Dr. David Samadi, a star of a surgeon at Mt. Sinai. Dr. Samadi is one of the very few urologic surgeons in the United States trained in oncology, open surgery, laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery. Aptly called “RoboDoc” by our writer, Aliza Davidovit, Dr. Samadi and his robot, da Vinci, perform SMART Surgery—Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique. da Vinci allows Dr. Samadi to perform a more precise and minimally invasive prostate surgery procedure, which protects the patient’s delicate prostate nerves controlling bladder and sexual function. Turn to page 42 to learn more about this superstar at Mt. Sinai.

Up next we have comedian Judy Gold. Judy has a new one-woman show called The Judy Show: My Life as a Sitcom. Turn to page 56 to read up on the many different characters Judy portrays in this new show.

Finally, our last superstar in the entertainment field is rapper Eprhyme. Eprhyme’s lyrical style is smart and subtle, as he weaves together storytelling, social commentary, literary references and intricate wordplay to portray multi-dimensional perspectives on everything from spirituality to art history to the environment. Turn to page 60 to learn about this master of storytelling through song.

In this issue we are incorporating a new ongoing section titled “Fountain Gallery Presents…” where we will be showcasing artists from Fountain Gallery, their artwork, and the inspiration behind the artwork.

Before I close, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who made this issue possible. If it weren’t for my staff at Mann Publications, our contributing writers, and all the press and media personnel who interact with us on a daily basis, there wouldn’t be a Mann About Town. You make this possible. And lastly, I’d like to thank our readers. We are here because of you and for you. Any questions, concerns, suggestions, or inquiries about this or any other magazine can be directed to info@mannpublications.com. We look forward to your feedback.

Have a great fall and winter and I’ll see you in 2012!

Regards,
Jeff
